Founded in 1873 by Mr. Charles H. Strickland formerly of Reigate, England, Strickland Ranch grew to over 30,000 acres at its prime and has a legacy spanning six generations producing both quality market cattle and ranch horses. Under the management of fifth generation Strickland owner Trevor, the ranch has undergone restructuring with the sale of 20,000 acres, liquidation of over half of the cattle herd, and a rehabilitation project of 2,500 acres as a wildlife reserve. Today the ranch’s primary focus is the breeding and development of stock horses for working cow and reining competition.
Founded in 2014 by husband and wife duo Kevin and Melanie Trost, Hazel Creek Morgans is dedicated to preserving the classic style Morgan Horse by selecting for temperament, train-ability and type. We pride ourselves on having high quality, arena proven breeding stock in a variety of color options, proving you don't have to sacrifice ability for variety!
After nearly a decade in Dallas, Oregon, Hazel Creek Morgans has moved their breeding program to join Strickland Ranch in Bedias, Texas.
