What do you do when you find out your fancy imported hunter stallion only has eyes for the kids? We brought Norm to the farm as a higher-level hunter candidate. But as his first season with us wore on, we started to throw some juniors on his back and saw how he lit up - he stood taller and stepped lighter. So we gave in, gelded him, and routed him toward the junior rings. He immediately shined as Sydney's first step-up from the pony rings. Norm is gentle with his riders but not always with the poles, and will gladly swim through anything lower than 2'6". But his sweet spot seems to be piloting a tiny person around the 3'-3'6" divisions.
